About

I started dancing classes at the age of 2 1/2. My mother had danced until she was 16, and like most mothers, thought her little girl would enjoy dancing too - she was right!

I trained at the Wheatley Dance Studios in London where I qualified as a teacher in 1991. I taught for Miss Wheatley at her main studios and also ran her branch schools.

In 1995 I started up the Difford School of Dancing in Biggin Hill in Kent. I also had a branch school in Chislehurst and had over 100 pupils. My students performed in annual shows at our local theatre and were entered into regular examinations - achieving a 100% pass rate!

During my training, I danced along side famous choreographer Priscilla Samuels who has taught several stars including The Spice Girls, and S Club 7. Through Priscilla, my pupils were asked to be backing dancers for The Spice Girls and appeared on LWT's "An Audience With The Spice Girls "and were also members of their audience in their movie "Spice World".

I too continued to perform and have danced in and choreographed several musicals - my favourite being Principal Dancer in the fast tapping musical "Crazy For You".

I sadly and regrettably gave up my schools in 2001 when my marriage broke up and I was forced to return to full time work. I moved to Kettering 3 years ago with my Partner and son Ryan - my daughter Liberty was born in 2004. I have always kept my LDTA membership up to date and have attended regular meetings and syllabus updates. 1 then began teaching ballet and tap at Angels Private Nursery and Salsa and Street Dance at LA Fitness. It was there that my passion and ambition for dancing returned. I then decided to start my own school up again and am looking forward to teaching once again!

I love dancing and get immense satisfaction from teaching, I adore the children and watching them progress is most rewarding.

I believe that children learn by having fun, but I also believe that discipline must be maintained throughout a class.

I feel that a child's development is achieved from a two way process with the parent, and I welcome any feedback you may wish to give.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and/or your child to the Difford School Of Dancing, and I hope you will be very happy here.
